UPCOMING EVENTS
Silent Film: Nosferatu, featuring Jonathan Hampton, organ
With the help of Jonathan Hampton’s amazing accompaniment on our historic Hook and Hastings pipe organ, we usher in the Halloween season with the classic silent horror film, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.
An unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, Nosferatu remains to many viewers the most unsettling vampire film ever made, and its bald, spidery vampire, personified by the diabolical Max Schreck, continues to spawn imitations in the realm of contemporary cinema.
Tickets are $10 per person and are available online or at the Old National Road Welcome Center, 5701 National Road East, Richmond, Indiana.
Little Shop of Horrors! (1986 Film)
Join us on Sunday, April 7 for an immersive Little Shop of Horrors experience! During a total eclipse of the sun, flower shop worker Seymour discovers a strange, new plant that turns his Skid Row community upside-down. Admission: $10.
Phantom of the Opera Silent Film with Jonathan Hampton at the organ
Celebrate the spooky season with a classic horror film - with a local twist. Jonathan Hampton will accompany the silent film, Phantom of the Opera, on our magnificent Hook and Hastings pipe organ. Tickets are $5.00.
Tickets are available online at https://www.reidcenter.org/tickets (plus a small convenience fee) or in person at the Old National Road Welcome Center, 5401 National Road East, Richmond, IN 47374.
A forerunner of the American horror film, and one of the most lavish productions of the silent cinema, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has inspired countless remakes and imitations. But none of its successors can rival the mesmerizing blend of romance and mystery that haunts every frame of the Lon Chaney original. This edition presents the 1929 theatrical version, restored from archival 35mm elements by Film Preservation Associates.
