1906 Dedication of the Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church

The Reid Center was dedicated on May 13th, 1906 as the Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Church, located in Richmond, Indiana was underwritten by Daniel Gray Reid as a memorial to his parents, Daniel Reid and Ann Gray Reid.

Mr. Reid spared no expense in this endeavor. The windows were designed and executed by the Tiffany Studios of New York, New York. The organ, built by the Hook and Hastings Company, was dedicated as a memorial to his wife, Clarisse.

A full description of the windows, interior decoration (which was also the work of the Tiffany Studios), furniture, pianos, chimes, chandeliers, and other furnishings are detailed in the dedication program booklet. Also featured are photos of the building - which has changed little over the past 100+ years!

We invite you to review the actual dedication program booklet from May 13th, 1906 (or, you may prefer to directly view the file on the Internet Archive website.):
