Joan Martin

Joan Martin, native of Seymour, IN, graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) with B.S. and M.S. degrees from the School of Education. She taught second/third grades and choir at Vaile Elementary School in Richmond and served as organist of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church from January 1971 until the church closing in November 2017. Her organ teachers were Robert S. Byrd, Clarence Ledbetter, and Robert B. Dafler. After church music study at the University of Colorado and various workshops sponsored by ADM, she worked in more musical areas. Currently, Joan plays bells, sings in the choir, and participates in liturgical dance at First Christian Church. In addition to music activities, she began writing children’s books in 2012, with four published books to date, plus one adult book.

All events last 45-50 minutes and are open to the public. Admission is free.

Come when you can, go when you must. We're looking forward to seeing you!

Accessibility:
The historic church presents a number of accessibility challenges. The south entrance (along North A Street) has an accessible ramp to the door.
